Creating a Cozy Fall Color Palette

I teamed up with Sherwin-Williams once again to create a cozy fall color palette for their ad in the current issue of Magnolia Journal. The goal was to come up with an overall design that felt like somewhere you’d want to hang out on Saturday afternoons to watch football or read a book. I used a soothing green for the wall color and brought in shades of cream, blue, orangey-red and mushroom. (And, I always like to throw a little black in for good measure.)

And, who would’ve thought at 47, I can now add “hand model” to my resume. . .

Everything I used for this board, with Sherwin-Williams’ Retreat SW 6207 as my background color:

  1. Fan floral vertical stripe wallpaper
  2. Bobble floral (blue) fabric
  3. Blue teardrop floral fabric
  4. Sherwin-Williams paint: Sierra Redwood SW 7598, Portabello SW 6102, Endless Sea SW 9150
  5. Solid performance velvet fabric in mushroom
  6. Red trio floral fabric
  7. Coordinate blue fabric
  8. Original artwork (mine)
  9. Bobble floral (red) fabric
  10. Sherwin-Williams paint: Tricorn Black SW 6258 and Classic Light Buff SW 0050
